It’s ironic, isn’t it, that the most imporant selling we marketers do is selling ourselves?! or rather, selling our ideas. And yet we often fail to draw upon the principles for effective marketing when it comes to marketing our ideas. We pack our management presentations with eye charts and dry bullet points, instead of being “consumer” focused and developing presentations that tell powerful stories in well-designed ways that move our audiences through the decision process.
The good news is Andrew Abela, founding managing director of the Marketing Leadership Council, has written an excellent how-to on designing presentations that sell ideas effectively and so this is a quick tip to check out his book, Advanced Presentations by Design. Hope you find it as helpful as I have.
