The funny thing about statuses is that about a year ago I realized I was boring. So I set out to change this. I had this huge sketchbook filled with ideas that never got done. Now I started doing these ideas just to be interesting with my status.

Case in point: http://pic.gd/4733aa

My attempts to be interesting in my status is all quite natural, I am just putting action behind my thoughts. So my actions are really building this image that other people build their ideas upon. Ultimately this is how branding works, I am now less boring.

As you mentioned, people are building their personal brands with B.S. The "truth" is not just a version anymore, the "truth" has to be more accurate with social media acting as instant validation. The funny thing is being full of B.S. is a brand, not a good one but a brand nonetheless.

Yeah, and rightly so, these socail networking sites just allow the truth to travel faster, which is never a bad thing, and is a good tool for ensuring people stay honest and mannered!

Whilst I was writing a book on Facebook Statuses, 'is; the Phenomenon of the Facebook Status' I could see over a period of time how people where telling their life story to the world, or at least trying to protray a certain image. With real time info via facebook and twitter coming from 3rd parties, this ensures that the this image protrayed isn't based on BS.

Good artice, keep them coming ;-)
