Hi Denise,

Congratulations on a thought-provoking post. In my experience, it is a rarity for teachers, in any field, to admit they have learnt something from students. I think it is essential that teachers display 'servant-leader humility' - as you clearly have. I am sure that translates into how you structure your learning processes as well.

With regard to the content, I found it fascinating - and look forward to more high quality content. As an aside, I wonder if the gender differences in interaction are due to the teaching process and structure having an historical male bias ? - as opposed to how women learn (just an hypothesis). I would be interested in your observations on this.

Thanks again,
Stephen

Denise, it doesn’t surprise me that you learned more than you taught, for I know how you go into meetings, etc. We’re all capable of learning so much if we just approach situations with a “beginner’s attitude.” Too bad, we often go into such things somewhat subconsciously defensive, poised to prove just how much of an "expert" we really are :).

I love speaking with students. Their energy is contagious, and I find the whole experience motivating. So much to learn from them!
