Denise:
I agree. I think one of the key takeaways from businesses that have created truly powerful brands was always that the values of the business were lived each day in all areas of the company.

The Brand is the business.

When the constituents of a company (from personnel to vendors to customers, to anyone else that comes in contact with the company) can *feel* the values of the company in how the company acts and makes decisions, then they've nailed the branding.

I took a quick read through your posted article, and really liked your premise. I look forward to reading more about Brand as Business, as I agree strongly - start with the brand, then build the business to support the brand.

Dear Denise,

First of all I want to compliment you with your website. It is really informative.

Second I wanted to comment about "brand vlaue creation"and "internal business processing". This approach can be more succesfull with strong brands. And a leadership mindset will help encouraging this.

Yours sincerely,

Great post, Denise. Because externally the brand increasingly gets managed by consumers it is the internal process and its output such as products and customer service where a strong focused brand can make a difference!
